ABOUT

Katie Hardin is a Choreographer and Director based in NYC, originally from Oklahoma City. She is an educator at Shuffles and Chickenshed NYC where she works with students of all abilities and backgrounds. Her favorite part of creating theater is the collaboration not only between creative peers, but the discovery and growth of a piece when actors bring themselves to the work. Katie believes that collaboration is the soul of great art. The partnership of different perspectives portrayed through the same story creates rich and powerful theater.
She is set to direct "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City", which will be her New York directing debut. Katie recently finished studying with Seth Barrish and Lee Brock at the Barrow Group's Directing Program, where she directed a one act play under Seth's guidance, as well as the first reading of "Some Room", a new one act play at the Barrow Group Playwriting Festival. Other credits include "The Skriker" at Lenfest Theater at Columbia University (co-choreographer), "Just a Girl That Men Forget" (choreographer) at Open Choreography Lab associated with New York Theater Barn, “The Giant Hoax” at Theater Row (Assistant Choreo), and “Crazy for You” at Sharon Playhouse (Associate Choreo).
